Charalampos N. Pitas received the Dipl.Eng. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, the Master degree (M.B.A.) in Engineering Economics and Management, the Master degree (M.S.) in Geoinformatics (Renewable Energy Resources and Environment), and the Dr. Eng. (PhD) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering all from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Greece, in 2003, 2006, 2008 and 2012 respectively. He is a senior/experienced researcher at the Mobile Radiocommunications Laboratory of NTUA. His research interests are focused on wireless communication networks optimization and benchmarking, video broadcasting, smart grid technologies, QoS/QoE characterization and prediction with advanced statistics and computational intelligence methods. He has published more than 10 research papers in international peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings.
Since 2011, he is electrical engineer at the Independent Power Transmission Operator (ADMIE/IPTO SA), Greece, involving in techno-economic planning of new transmission projects. The second half of 2010, he was the technical leader of a project regarding mobile networks benchmarking in Greece. From 2008 to 2010, he was adjunct lecturerat the Technological Educational Institution(TEI) of Ionian Islands, Lefkada. From 2005 to 2008, he was telecommunications engineer (ext.partner) with the radio access network optimization department, COSMOTE Mobile Telecommunications SA, Greece. From 2003 to 2005, he served as a reserve officer the Research and Informatics Corps of the Hellenic Army. He is a Member of the IEEE (COMSOC and PES) and the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE).
